When you’re interacting with Exclamation Labs, there is a good chance that you are unaware of the talent fueling your project. We work with some pretty spectacular people who are truly experts in their field. Take a few minutes to get to know them, personally and professionally, and see why these folks are our “special sauce” in the recipe for success.
Meet John Berg!
Q: Give us a quick overview: Tell us about your role at eLabs. How long have you been here, what roles have you played? What is your favorite thing about working at eLabs?
I’ve worked here for a little over 2 years now as an IAM Engineer. My favorite part of working here is getting to use a lot of different technologies and being exposed to different methods of utilizing them.
Brian Morin, DevOps Lead, praised John for his commitment to delivering quality work on all of his assigned projects.
"John's dedication to understanding client needs and requirements is a testament to his professionalism. Both our company and our clients benefit from having John as part of the Exclamation Labs team."
Since we’re here in the “Lab,” time for an exam! No right or wrong answers, but it is rapid fire. We'll call this "10 questions in 60 seconds." Tell us the first thing that comes to your mind:
1. What would you name the autobiography of your life?
What Did I Get Myself Into?! This would almost be entirely focused on my time in the Marines.
2. If you could learn to do anything, what would it be?
Time travel. Time is an interesting concept to me, and it would be cool to go a different direction than just forward.
3. When you have 30 minutes of free-time, how do you pass the time?
30 minutes of free time? I don’t remember what that’s like. I like to read fiction, play video games, and program video games.
4. If you could be any fictional character, who would you choose?
Aslan from “The Chronicles of Narnia” books. For a lion, he is very human, and he’s willing to give up everything he has for everyone.
5. What is something you learned in the last week?
Flies are very distracting creatures.
6. What’s your favorite indoor/outdoor activity?
Indoor: sleeping Outdoor: hiking
7. What chore do you absolutely hate doing?
Cleaning dishes. My hands dry out from the detergent, and I hate wearing gloves to protect them.
8. If you could meet anyone, living or dead, who would you meet?
This is a hard one, there’s a lot more than one I’d like to meet. I think I’ll go with Timothy. He was a young man who led a church during a time when it was illegal to be a Christian.
9. What’s the coolest (or most important) trend you see today?
Probably people taking the time to vote. It doesn’t seem like it was as important to a majority of people before. I stay away from social media every 4 years as a result, though.
10. What would you most like to tell potential eLabs employees or customers?
This is a great place to work. Everyone here is always ready to share their knowledge with their coworkers. We always do our best to help each other provide the best experience possible in the workplace and to our customers.
